Never Gives Up Her Dead
A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, Linux, and Android
Travel through space and time to save your ship!
Time is running out after a meteor strikes your interstellar starship. While the crew is under full alert, only you seem to notice the strange red portals opening up throughout the ship.
Explore ten different worlds, learn the truth of your destiny, and confront the mysterious figure who has been haunting you from the start in this epic sci-fi adventure.
Playing the game:
This game is a long and challenging text adventure. Most experienced players of interactive fiction will take around 15-25 hours to complete this game. At 360,000 words, this is one of the largest games ever written in the Inform system.
The difficulty level of this game was designed for those who are already familiar with parser-based interactive fiction and its conventions. If you're not familiar with what the commands INVENTORY or X ME would do, I recommend you try a shorter adventure first; a list of such games can be found here: https://ifdb.org/search?searchfor=system%3Ainform+-tag%3Acommercial+-tag%3Along-...

What people are saying:
"The narrative threads culminated in an endgame that left me fulfilled in such a way that I haven't stopped thinking about it since."—Zephyr Runner
"It's always nice to have a game that's giant in scope and full of puzzles, but the most important part of Never Gives Up Her Dead for me is that it's always fair. Nothing in it comes off as random or underclued, and I felt like every solution was easily solvable if I just looked around a bit more or thought about the clues from a different perspective."—Lance Cirone
"As I played Never Gives Up Her Dead, I kept coming back to the same thought: 'wait, there's MORE?'
This game is BIG, featuring lots of areas that are mostly separate and self-contained.[...]Each area is almost like a game all on its own, with its own vibes and style of puzzle. It made for really fun and varied gameplay. I really enjoyed this game!"—aluminumoxynitride
This game works with most screen readers and many players who are visually impaired have found it to be enjoyable.

Went to save a game. It wants to save it in as a Glk file, but doesn't, so you can't restore the game. Tried changing the file names extension, but still not showing up. Running on linux, btw.
Discovered that the extension should be .glksave and then it works. The save function is not adding any extension though.
Thank you for letting me know! I'll see if there's anything I can do to fix it in the future.
In the meantime, the download package should also include a gblorb file that can be used with your preferred interpreter, which may have improved functionality.
BTW, since I have your attention. Is there a way to play it in just a text mode? I got the impression that there was from hearing about your game on Retro Adventurers.
I'm not quite what sure what that would mean. Do you mean just reading the text as a story with no input? If so, you may be interested in looking up the Club Floyd transcript of the game.
Otherwise, thee gblorb version of the game should be playable in any interpreter, including command line or otherwise, but those require separate download (anything that can play a glulx game).
I meant a way to play it just in text, without the gui. It's fine. I'm playing as it is.
